Veterans Support Peer Group

Bring Everyone In The Zone (BEITZ) and the Military Veteran Peer Network (MVPN) is a joint program between the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) and Texas’ Local Mental Health Authorities (LMHAs). Peer groups are led by trained professional facilitators who volunteer to lead community based veteran-to-veteran support groups all over Texas.

Geno Marascio, the Chair of our chapter’s PTSD Committee, is trained as peer-to-peer facilitator willing to provide free confidential peer support. The goal is to help Active Duty, Reserves, Guard, Veterans, and their families, who suffer from the effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), or Military Sexual Assault. Anyone who has experienced a traumatic event is at risk to develop PTSD.

Geno leads confidential peer-to-peer support group meetings of individuals who may struggle with some of these issues. He may also give referrals to professionals and other programs if needed.
